Women Owned Wineries has played a big part in Raft Wines beginning year, and we’re honored to get a shout out in the article.

To quote Amy, ” I offer this directory of woman-owned wineries to help put dollars in the pockets of women business leaders. The project is growing to include a wine club, which you can join here. When the effort is strong enough, I hope to set up a fund for other female wine entrepreneurs. None of these steps alone will solve the problem, but maybe it’s a start…”.

Cru Podcast is a weekly podcast released by Chappy Cottrell and is an in depth look at the people behind the scenes in the industry.  Jennifer was honored to meet with him in early December to discuss the history and philosophy of Raft Wines and her community involvement.

On October 9th, 2017, Firestorms and Wildfires broke out across Lake, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma Counties. The loss has been indescribable, and our hearts are broken for our homes and communities. Luckily the Raft Wines’ winery was spared by some miracle, and all the vineyards in affected counties are safe. Inspired by the incredible outpouring of support, I have gotten together to with a group of wine industry professionals to form REBUILD WINE COUNTRY. We’re working directly with Habitat of Humanity of Sonoma County to raise funds for the rebuilding effort. 100% of your donation is going directly to the individuals who need financial assistance to rebuild, and is tax-deductible.

Jon Bonné‘s  book, The New California Winereleased in 2013, brought to life a narrative of the new, young, and innovative winemakers of the next generation. This article addresses the current state of the industry, just four short years, but many changes later. Women of the Vine & Spirits, the world’s leading organization dedicated to the support and advancement of women in the alcohol beverage industry, launched the Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation earlier this year and has awarded its first scholarship recipients for 2017.

Raft Wines winemaker, Jennifer, was awarded the scholarship for Leadership Development. With this award, Jennifer will be attending the Global Symposium held in March 2018, to learn from hundreds of other attendees in the Wine and Spirits sector.

On Monday, August 14, the wonderful folks of Hedley & Bennett Aprons are hosting the School of Hustle with Instagram for Business. This one day conference is a hands on, energetic, crash course look into the world of an entrepreneur and small business owners.
