2022 2022 Mourvedre
Mourvedre! Classically appreciated and under the radar. Native to Spain, well loved in the Southern Rhone, famous in Bandol, and with pockets planted across the world, it’s a versatile, lovely, red wine. However, its hardly ever seen on it’s own. It’s found kindred relationships with it’s Rhone counterparts, Syrah, Grenache in blends.

Yummy red fruits, savory backbone. Just enough tannins to stand up to food, but ultimately, incredibly gulpable.

2022 was a year of exploration for Raft and this was a fun experiment. Hailing from Prie Vineyards in Lodi, an organically farmed vineyard in the middle of all the action. The vintage was famously hot and everything came in all at once. Brought in September 4, 2022.
In the cellar it was whole cluster fermented and pressed. It laid still till bottling in April 2026.
Four years in barrel you say?! Its true. I never knew when the time was quite right, and turns out, it’s now. Try it, you’ll see! Aged in all neutral oak, half of which was Hungarian.
